We ended 2014 on a strong note. Fishing in Sebastian and Sebastian Inlet has
been very good for snook, redfish, flounder, bluefish, jacks and pompano.
The Snook bite has been good in Sebastian Inlet due to the warmer than
normal weather and the calm winds. The Redfish and Tarpon have been feeding
in Sebastian Inlet as well.
We have found Rays and Cobia nearshore from Melbourne Beach to Vero with the
water temps warmer than normal as well. Port Canaveral has had a good
kingfish and Cobia bite as well. Tarpon are on bait pods off Vero Beach and
we have jumped several on soft plastic baits rigged on VMC jig heads.
Inshore fishing from Melbourne Beach to Palm Bay and Grant has been pretty
good and there is more bait in the water since the water temps are very warm
for our winter time. The bite has been pretty good for trout, Refish, Snook,
pompano, jacks and some bluefish. The best Pompano bite has been around
Sebastian Inlet and the flats and spoil islands around the inlet. Pompano
jigs and subsurface baits have been the best baits for targeting the
schooling fish. Slot size Redfish have been along the mangroves and on the
flats in Vero Beach and around Sebastian Inlet in good numbers as well. Live
bait has accounted for the bigger fish but we have caught a few on the Lil
Jon and Storm Twitch Stick.
