We have been fishing in and around Sebastian Inlet the last several weeks
for Jacks, Redfish and Snook. The live bait has been hard to get and weather
hasn’t been conducive to fish the jetty or drift Sebastian Inlet but we have
managed a few days catching Redfish and a bunch of Jack Crevalle. Snook bit
has been hit or miss lately.
Inshore fishing has been decent and will get better the water has been
cleaning up quite a bit. From Vero beach to Melbourne and Palm Bay there are
trout, Refish, Snook, pompano, jacks and some bluefish. Pompano jigs and
subsurface baits have been the best baits for targeting the schooling fish.
Slot size Redfish have been along the mangroves and on the flats in Vero
Beach and around Sebastian Inlet in good numbers as well. Live bait has
accounted for the bigger fish but we have caught a few on the Lil Jon and
Storm Twitch Stick.
Nearshore reefs off of Melbourne Beach and the inshore rockpiles around
Sebastian and Vero Beach have had plenty of juvenile Mutton Snapper, Grouper
and Sheephead.
