Inshore, Nearshore & Offshore Guided Fishing Trips - Sebastian, FL

Whether you’re an experienced ansgler or never fished before, you’re going to have an amazing time bending rods in Sebastian Inlet’s world-renowned fishery with Capt. Glyn Austin and Capt. Jesse Austin. We’re all about catching fish, but more importantly, having a fun time doing it. The diverse waterways of the Sebastian area help make our job easy, offering a great experience for any groups or individuals to enjoy a day on the boat.

OUR CHARTERED TRIPS

Depending on your personal preference and/or what the current weather conditions allow, the inshore/nearshore trip will cover the waters in and around Sebastian Inlet. Inshore, we will fish the Indian River Lagoon, Sebastian River, and Sebastian Inlet, targeting a variety of species including speckled sea trout, flounder, snook, redfish, and pompano. Through the inlet into the nearshore waters just off the beach, we can also target larger gamefish such as cobia, tarpon, and sharks.
Sebastian inshore fishingIf it’s big game fish you’re after, let Capt. Glyn take you on an offshore trip aboard his 24′ Wellcraft. You’ll start your day slow trolling with live bait, 5 – 25 miles east of Sebastian Inlet for sailfish, dolphin, kingfish and and other highly prized species. Later in the day you’ll move to bottom fishing reefs and wrecks for grouper, amberjack, snapper, and cobia.

FISHING TRIP FAQ

The State of Florida is among the great fishing capitals of the world. From the Florida Keys to the Panhandle, there’s without a doubt dozens of bucket list fisheries around here, but among them all, the waters in and around Sebastian Inlet are especially unique. Not only do we have access to the Indian River Lagoon, which is North America’s most bio-diverse estuary, but also easy access to the blue waters of the Atlantic, and the headwaters of the St. John’s River.
This is largely speculative and subject to much debate. Just don’t bring it up at the Austin family Thanksgiving Dinner.
Part of the fun with fishing if, you never really know what to expect. We always do our best to put our clients on the fish, and most often succeed. The beauty of fishing the waters of Sebastian, FL, is that there are fun sport fish and other species to target all year-round.
Various species of fish here follow reasonably distinct seasonal patterns, but they can — and do — often change on a whim. If you want to get the latest, check out our weekly Sebastian fishing report on Spacefish.com.
This is another one not recommended to bring up during family get-togethers, but some speculate that Glyn loves this boat even more than his own son… Also, don’t mention it to Jesse.

THE CAPTAINS

Two captains spanning two generations, both born and raised in Central Florida — fishing the waters of Sebastian Inlet runs through their veins.

It’s my passion hunting for big fish and my desire to educate others on the joys of fishing whether you are a hardcore angler of a family just getting involved with the sport and wanting to spend the day on the water. I welcome the opportunity to show you the great fishing our area has to offer.

CAPT. GLYN AUSTIN

Capt. Glyn Austin has been fishing these local waters since he was old enough to hoist a rod. Before becoming a full-time professional fishing guide, Glyn worked for 21 years in public media relations for Bombardier, the makers of Evinrude outboard motors. During this time, he became involved in the regional and national tournaments of the Southern Kingfish Association Tour, with his most recent victory coming at the 2009 Key West Harbour Tournament. As Glyn’s family grew, he began focusing on sharing his passion for fishing with the next generation of anglers, becoming the managing organizer of Space Coast Reel Anglers, a youth organization dedicated to educating kids on fishing and conservation. Today, Glyn’s passion is his full-time job, providing chartered trips along with his son, Capt. Jesse.

CAPT. JESSE AUSTIN

In addition to a lifetime of tutelage under his father, Jesse’s experience also includes commercial fishing for both pompano and swordfish. Ultimately, the apple did not fall far from the tree as Jesse pursued his captain’s license and went to work with his dad as a full time fishing guide.
"I was lucky to grow up here on the water and cultivate my passion for fishing under the guidance of my Dad. Love for this sport is truly contagious -- I'm inspired to share this joy with every opportunity, and it would be my honor take you fishing!"
